Cotton overalls seem to be the best in and around machinery. Its important to consider footwear ie decent shoes have a pair of robust shoes for engine room use only, please do not wear flipflops when working in the engine room. Ties and scarfs should be removed prior to entering the engine space, especially where main engines and generators are running. Long hair ie pony tails etc should be tied back and secured. ROTATING MACHINERY IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IN THE CONFINES OF A BOAT ENGINE ROOM.
